Co-designers Rose Revitt and Kevin Jenkins have created a lovely, deceptively utilitarian set, complete with rickety staircases and a cleverly simultaneous representation of the interior and exterior of Scrooge’s counting house. Nicely lit and neatly paced, this is a moving and ultimately joyous adaptation. - The Telegraph 4 stars

a higgledy wooden structure of stairs, beams and cupboards that gets steadily more festive as it’s draped in greenery. - The Stage 4 stars

The set is beautiful; it is wooden, on two levels with two rickety staircases on each side. There are back-lit windows with small panes, a gas lit streetlamp, a fireplace, Scrooge’s office. It is versatile and used well. When ghosts appear, all the lights buzz and flash creating an eerie, otherworldly atmosphere. The Cratchits’ dinner table silently rises from the floor, Scrooge’s grave spookily illuminates on the floor, Fezziwig’s Christmas party decorations descend from above. It’s all quite magical and delightful. - Everything Theatre 5 stars

Rose Revitt and Kevin Jenkins’ set design was a real highlight; every element of the set was used with huge success, and it felt like the set was another member of the cast rather than being something that was passive and stagnant. - Theatre and Tonic 4 stars

The set, designed by Kevin Jenkins and Rose Revitt, is used effectively to portray the vast array of locations we visit, and Jenkins and Revitt’s costumes are wonderful – capturing the essence of the Victorian era and really showing the difference between each social class. - West End Best Friend 4 stars

The set is stunning, with so much detail included: the delicately flickering fireplace glowing with warmth is so finely done, streetlights and lights inside the houses on the streets, almost makes you want to visit on that cold night before Christmas. The cobbled street is detail unmatched Northern Arts Review 5 stars

The production is a visual delight. Taking an early seat in the Crucible auditorium gives the audience an opportunity to study and appreciate the splendid, highly adaptable and aesthetically pleasing set by co-designers Rose Revitt and Kevin Jenkins, which dominates the open stage. - British Theatre Guide
